Translations with Shaw Pong Liu

Translations, Shaw Pong’s major project this summer took her ongoing solo exploration of birdsong, “A Bird a Day” and opened it up exponentially as a collaboration with choreographer Rodney Veal, seventeen professional and local dancers and musicians, and seven Blue Sky youth participant crew members, with the counsel of two local naturalists/birders. Together they created a large-scale, site-specific performance of music and movement inspired by nature and birdsong, with performers interspersed throughout idyllic Aullwood Garden MetroPark in Englewood.
